AccelerationHaving received my Reiki II classes, I started to notice that now that I was becoming more aware of my worldview, it was changing faster than ever. I looked at myself and my mythic story and realized that I had gone from being a scholar type in my youth, to being something of a warrior in my young adult years, and I was now starting to think more like a healer or priest type. Of course, I was never an absolute of any of these, but working with the themes helped me get a handle on things. Having set the intention to accelerate my life and my growth, I realized that this was a part of that.

While this was happening, I started getting exposed to what I later learned were principles of New Thought. This started when I was in my local metaphysical bookshop, and I received a strong intuitive urge to pick up a movie. I looked at it and it didn’t seem that remarkable to me and I couldn’t figure out why I should get it, but I did. For those of you that haven’t guessed, the movie was the sleeper hit The Secret.

My initial reaction wasn’t the best: Five minutes into the movie, I said: “There’s no way I’m going to be able to get my money back”. However, I gave it a fair shot. I wasn’t wild about the materialistic focus of the movie, but I understood why it was there: In order to reach those with low levels of awareness, you have to make your message accessible. But I digress.

Not realizing that the movie was basically an intro to New Thought ideas, I absorbed the lessons presented and turned my attention to what my next goal was. Later on, when I talked with Nanette about the movie, she said that it was a decent primer on New Thought, but I didn’t make the connection until a few weeks ago when I had a bit of synchronicity cause me to start reading Ernest Holmes, one of the classic authors on the topic. Very interesting reading.

As I looked back and saw how quickly I was picking up speed, I decided that now would be a good time to get a glimpse of my purpose. Having done this, I now was faced with the challenge of how move forward. Being technically inclined, and having access to web hosting, I decided to start a blog discussing that which I am most passionate about: Technology and enhancing lives.

Ironically, doing so has only increased my growth. I was looking to create a resource where I would share what experiences and insights I had, but the exchange of ideas has been of more benefit to me than I ever expected.

As of right now, I’m due to start my Reiki master classes in just under two weeks. Life is an interesting ride, and downright fun, if you do it right.
