Hi, and welcome to Technology for Living! Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you were able to get something out of the story. It sounds like yours is pretty interesting too!

Thanks so much for sharing your story! We all have tread paths such as this. My husband/life partner and I have been through personal bankruptcy, foreclosure on our house, and all sorts of nastiness related to bad jobs and inability to manage money. Now we are calm, more stable, and living in the Caribbean--not bad!

Surprisingly, yes. I started out this blog trying to keep myself out of it as much as possible. What I have slowly come to realize over time is that doing so doesn't really serve my purpose. I created this blog to turn into something of a community resource, and if people think that there's nobody home, nobody will read it. Now, however, I can be much more direct and open. I briefly wondered if my writing the story was an "ego trip", but I figured that if it was, I'd find out real quick.

I'm glad you enjoyed the post. I was nervous as to whether or not to tell my story, but I figured that it would help explain things better.

Summer and I e-mailed for a few weeks (think it was over a month) before we actually met face-to-face. It was a year and a half before we were married, although we were both committed not long after we started dating. We wanted to be sure.

I know that a year and a half is a lot to glaze over in a few paragraphs, but there's a lot of stuff in there that doesn't really pertain, and I didn't want to put people to sleep :-)

Thank you for this post, it is very helpful in getting a feel for who you are. It sounds like a wonderful transformation you underwent!

How long had you been emailing Summer before you started dating? How long did you date before you married?
